I promised real thoughts on this episode, so here it goes ;). I'm terribly late with replying to comments and reading other episode reactions, I know. It's just that school started, real life takes up a lot of time, and when I actually have some internet time, I try to write fic. I'll do my best to be less late, but I'm not sure if I can catch up

He certainly didn't approve of how Mikael fed on Stefan. And he was a romantic fool in 1864. Idk, it all seemed to connect nicely?
I almost want to write meta about its multifaceted flawlessness.
DO IT!
LOL, good Catholic boy. I'm pretty sure that's who he used to be ;).

trolololol on me and you having the same thoughts on Tyler & 'the team' - I was a little more amused by it all.
I still just cannot with Damon and Ric ;_; I don't know if were Flisties circa S3? EITHER WAY, THE BROMANCE IS MY HEART AND SOUL. IT LIVES ON. METAPHORICALLY.
Damon is an amazing creature tbh, I love everything he chooses to be.

I'm yet to read your episode reaction, but I'm glad we agree ;). Yes, it was a bit funny. Tyler has a morbid sense of humor, I suppose.
We weren't flisters circa s3, so I didn't know about your Damon and Alaric ways, but OMG I SPENT ENTIRE SEASON 2 STANNING THE HELL OUT OF THEM!!!!!!!!!! So now? Feelings definitely happened.

lol ok. Well put. And I love everything you say about Stelena. Let's hope this is how things go down. I have more faith after this episode, but better not to have any faith at all where this ship is concerned, so whatever.
I love the visual of Elena being all girly, sexual and smiling with Stefan, being the Perfect Girlfriend, undressing him, kissing... and then running away to vomit. THERE IS NO WAY THEY DON'T WANT ME TO READ IT AS A METAPHOR. She throws up right in the middle of living up to All The Expectations. She literally can't stomach being The Good Girl.YES YES YES YES YES. And it's consistent with her vomiting in church, too, right in the middle of trying to be the perfect beacon of compassion for April. (lol, and then she almost KILLS her at the end, and finally has to ( ... )

I knoooooow. If S/E gets fucked up again now, I will never recover :(. I JUST CAN'T HELP HAVING ALL THOSE FEELINGS OKAY?

OMG YES. Elena is having a psychosomatic reaction to blood, y/y?
Though, I hope the show explores this more, just so the world-building is clearer.
Yep, we definitely need someone to comment on it.
ABANDONMENT COMPLEXES 5EVER.
Save me from my teenage feelings :((((((((.
Elena has always preferred to deal with her grief and issues privately. She was there because of Stefan.
He organizes a show for her sake and she participates in it for his sake. Relationships are about communication...

which is why I actually like that Elena and Stefan are acting as if s3 never happened? They had a problem. They put it behind them without solving it. Now it's behind them, aka in a perfect position to bite them in the ass
You know, I get why they'd want to do this, and it's totally in character for both of them, but I think my powers of self-delusion are just not that good, because I kind of can't fathom being able to act like it never happened? It does not seem like the sort of thing one can just forget. Then again, I don't live in Mystic Falls, and clearly there's something in the water there (and it is not vervain).
Blood sharing is not a vampire thing, it's a Damon thing. Feeding Elena is personal, because when he was human, he used to feed Katherine, and it means something for him: it means surrendering himself, it means sharing his body, it means expressing love.Yeah, I can see that. The way Damon said it, it sounded like he meant it as a general vampire thing, but lol Mikael. That'd be awkward ( ... )

I regret nothing.

Hmm, but I guess that's the point of 4x02? Elena CAN'T act like it never happened, but she tries to force herself anyway, and it ends with a psychosomatic reaction to blood. At least this seems like the most plausible explanation for me, because "your body is rejecting transition because of your doppelganger blood"? It sounds like Damon himself doesn't believe it, he's talking just to talk. There is no non-ridiculous supernatural explanation to what's happening to Elena. But a psychosomatic reaction makes a lot of sense to me.
Stefan didn't mention it being ~personal then. He just thought it was dangerous because he'd want to eat her.
Yes, exactly! But it clearly is personal for Damon.
Like, she'd rather go off with Damon, not because she wants to be with ( ... )

I hadn't actually considered that it was psychosomatic until you said it, lol, but I guess we'll know for certain if it's not a problem next ep. Works for me!
