"Ask and ye shall receive"

"Halp! I not mechanical bull!"

(sometimes, it seems like the devil just won't get off your back, but keep resisting...)

So there I was on Funday, not having a fun day, and trying to focus on my independent study through all the pain; trying to hold back tears in a computer lab surrounded by people who are unaware of my hellish sufferings (and me of theirs, of course ^_^ ).

I closed my eyes and began to pray: "Oh God, please release your love in me to help me cope with this torment and continue to live for others. I know your grace is sufficient for me, but I need an extra dose today in order to resist the devil and his evil plans. I want to be good, really, I do. Look how well I resisted this semester... every time. Please, please, please..."

It was really pathetic in retrospect. Thank God God is merciful. But just then, I had a double-take, like I couldn't see straight for a moment. And then I felt better; the torture had subsided. And then I remembered to check my email, AND THERE IT WAS!

Some kind soul wrote me back to tell me that her boss had granted me the money I asked for! Not just some, but all of it! The exact amount I had asked for! No annoying scholarship application, unnecessary letters of rec, no silly essay requiring unwarranted claims,  just a simple email asking for money for my summer classes and expenses. And it's A LOT more money than I think I'll actually need for the summer. (Which is fine with me ^_^ )

"If My words abide in you, and you remain in Me, ask for whatever you wish in My name and it shall be given unto you." ~Jesus Christ!
"As you have believed, let it be done unto you." ~Jesus Christ!

It's funny how everything I asked for (pain relief, comfort, strength, and money) suddenly came to me in an instant. Praise God. Ever since I silenced the negativity inside of me and practised using the power of the Word, it really has been easier to live for others in Love. Amen?

p.s. Remember that grad student who dislikes Russians? Well, he seems to be impressed with my bitstring model and offered to write me a letter of rec along with Dr. Wang. Chin up...
