Flagstaff, AZ - Yesterday was a very long, but leisurely drive through west Texas, New Mexico and part of Arizona. I even stopped to shoot some pictures here and there.
Words cannot describe how much I miss the west and southwest. A while back a job came up that would have put me in Phoenix. I should have taken it.
The pace of life is just different here. The people are just more laid back. I shot this one from the driveway of a middle school. A policeman drove by and simply waved. Back east I would have been showing my ID.
There is very little east of the Rocky Mountians that compares to Mother Nature's sculptures.
Did I say laid back? The crows at the rest area did a little Jerry Springer for me. So not everyone is all that laid back.
Where else can you see a laser beam straight set of railroad tracks that extend well beyond the horizon?
How I miss chasing trains.
I'll be in Las Vegas tonight where I get to meet some satellite truck folks and look at some really nifty TV toys. But best of all, I get hang out with my daughter and her husband for a while. Woo-Hoo!
Mother nature took her paint and her sculpting tools to Arizona and New Mexico. The result is stunning.
