In the hospital
"Please God, let Kame be alright." Jin paced up and down, insisting not to have his wounds treated until he is sure that Kame is alright.
"Mr Akanishi, please do not worry. Mr Kamenashi only had some abrasions here and there and he can discharge tonight." The doctor assured Jin.
"You sure? You sure there's no brain concussion or something? You sure he doesn't need to stay in the hospital for a full body check up?" Jin held onto the doctor's sleeves tightly. He was afraid ... damn afraid that he will lose Kame.
"Yes, Mr Akanishi. Mr Kamenashi is really alright." The doctor bowed and walked away.
"Kame! I am so sorry. So so sorry. It's all my fault." Jin knelt down beside the bed and cried. The fear of losing Kame consumed Jin to the extent that he has no control over his emotions now.
"It's okay, Jin. It's okay ... It's nobody's fault ..." Kame stroked Jin's hair gently.
"Kame ... I ... I ..."
"Kame!" Maki burst into the hospital ward.
"Maki!" Kame was surprised. "How'd you know I am here?"
"Jin told Yamapi and Yamapi came to inform me. Are you alright, dear?" Maki caressed Kame's cheek affectionately.
"Don't worry, dear. I am alright." Kame smiled. "I remembered everything, Maki. I am so sorry for putting you through such hell." Maki tried to blink back her tears, but they disobediently fell.
"Kame ..." Maki hugged Kame tightly. Oh how much she missed him!
"Jin ..." Kame turned to look at Jin.
"Yeah, I know. I won't disturb you two. I'm going now." Jin was obviously hurt by what he had just seen. His heart was wrenching so badly that he had the urge to pull it out. He felt like dying ... again.
"No, Jin! I didn't mean that! I just wanted to tell you to get your wounds treated. It's not good if they're infected." Kame's face softened. He was so damn worried about Jin when the doctors were treating his wounds. He kept insisting that they should go treat Jin first, but the doctors said that Jin had set an order to treat Kame first or he'll close down the whole hospital.
Jin collapsed on the floor after he closed the door. He was so weary and his heart was hurting so badly that he felt like dying. All the sudden turn of events for the past one year took a toll on Jin and he has finally collapsed. Kame going back to Maki again triggered everything that Jin fought hard to keep inside and Jin can no longer take anymore blows. Just how many more fucking times does he have to take all this shit? He's sick of everything. It's like he doesn't have a life anymore, and loneliness had consumed him whole.
"Mr Akanishi! Mr Akanishi!" A nurse found Jin lying on the floor, and his pulse was weak. "DOCTOR!" She ran as fast as she could to get help.
"Mr Kamenashi! It seems like Mr Akanishi has got a tetanus infection because his wounds were not treated in time, and they are performing an operation on him now." The nurse who found Jin lying on the floor ran into Kame's room after Jin had been pushed into the operating room.
"WHAT?" Kame's eyes were filled with fear.
"He has just been pushed into the operating room. Do you want to outside the operating room?" The nurse had already pushed a wheelchair in.
"YES YES, HURRY!" Kame was so anxious to get onto the wheelchair that he fell hard on the cold concrete floor.
"Kame!" Maki immediately helped him up. "You can wait for Jin in here!"
"No! How can I still be here when he's having an operation now?! I have to be the very first one to see him get out of the operating room and make sure that he's out of danger!" Kame pushed Maki away and hurriedly sat on the wheelchair. "Hurry! Push me there now!" He ordered the nurse.
Maki was hurt at the harsh gesture by Kame just now. She always knew that Kame loves Jin but they are already married, isn't it? Nothing can be changed now! She cannot lose Kame! How will she live without him? She is going to do whatever it takes to get Kame. Oh yes she will.
Outside the operating room
"Jin ... Please be alright. Jin ... There are still many things that we haven't do together. Please be alright. Please ..." Kame gripped his hands tightly and kept praying. They haven't completed their story yet.
After a few torturous hours of waiting, the operation finally ended and the doctor came out of the operating room.
"How is Jin! How is Jin!" Kame grabbed the doctor's arm aggressively.
"He is alright, Mr Kamenashi. He is out of danger now, do not worry. Now, if you'll excuse me." The doctor bowed and walked away.
Kame heaved a huge sigh of relief and tears fell from his face. He was so afraid ... so so afraid that Jin would leave him just like that. He finally understood how Jin had felt. How much hell Jin had gone through ever since Kame was in coma and even when he has woken up, he had gotten into so much trouble. Jin must have been frightened. He must have felt so vulnerable too.
Kame slowly pushed his wheelchair into Jin's room and stopped beside the bed. He then bent his body slowly and hug Jin.
"I'm so sorry for letting you go through so much, Jin. I'm so sorry." Kame whispered. "You must have felt so helpless, and your heart must have hurt so badly. I'm so sorry." Kame hugged him tighter, and his tears wet Jin's shirt; his left chest.
It wasn't long before Kame fell asleep and the door slowly creaked open. It had been a long night, and Kame was dead tired, which was why he didn't hear the door open and the footsteps. The figure took a pillow from the couch and slowly made her way towards the bed.
"I'm sorry, Jin." The voice said, and she held the pillow up, just above Jin's face.
