Summary: Akanishi Jin and Kamenashi Kazuya are best friends and together, they own the largest company in the country; Akame Corporations. Jin has feelings for Kame, but he never told him, and so Kame thought Jin never liked him and thus married a woman, hoping that this would help him put away his feelings for Jin. Or will fate pull them further away from each other?
Author's message: I have been wanting to end this fic soon because I have a few ideas for an upcoming fanfic. Hopefully I can wrap up this fic in about 3-4 chapters' time (pray that I don't suddenly have an idea pop out of nowhere and drag this fic longer!) Enjoy this chapter! As usual, comments are love~

"I think Yamapi should be coming anytime soon. We should get down now." Jin put the fork down on the table after finishing his piece of cake.
"Okay ..." Kame replied reluctantly. He wanted this moment to last longer.

Jin was feeling really happy to be able to spend christmas with Kame again. It has been 2 years since they spent christmas together; ever since Maki entered Kame's life. The thought of Maki made Jin frown again. The harsh reality of Kame not being his hit him again. No matter how close they are now, Jin knew that once Kame regains his memory, he will go back to Maki. No, even if he doesn't regain his memory, he will still eventually go back to Maki. Afterall, they're married. Married ... Married ... Married ... This word still haunts Jin's mind.

"Ah! You guys are going to have instant noodles?!" Yamapi looked at the pot of instant noodles that sat on the stove.
"Er ... Yeah?" Jin nodded slowly.
"Kame just discharged, Jin! He should eat nutritious food! I bet both of you skipped dinner too huh!" Yamapi placed his hands angrily on the sides of his waist.
"Er ... Yeah." Kame and Jin replied softly.
"See! I just left both of you alone for half a day and you skipped a meal already! I can't believe it!" Yamapi nagged like a grandmother. "I am going to make sure both of you get proper meals everyday! Understand?"
"Yes, mom." Kame and Jin saluted.
"Good boys." Yamapi threw the pot of instant noodles away and started cooking.

The blood of a workaholic really flows in Kame's body. As soon as he and Jin stepped into the study room, he started to take out the files from his briefcase and placed them neatly on the table. Jin simply threw his own files on the floor.
"Jin! Stop being such a messy idiot!" Kame reprimanded while picking up the files and placing them on the table.
"It doesn't matter, does it? They're just papers." Jin scratched his head.
"At least know how to take care of them!" Kame seated himself on the rolling chair.
"Yeah yeah." And Jin seated himself opposite of Kame.
"So ... Our project this time is to promote books?" Kame confirmed with Jin again.
"Yeah. Our client wants to attract more people to read books and so increase the sales of books. He owns almost all bookstores in the country and is addicted to reading. I guess he wants to share with everybody the joy of reading and most importantly, earn more money in the midst of spreading his interest. He may sound like a geek, but he is really good-looking. The kind that women will drool over." Jin got a little caught up with explaining.
"Ah ... You sound like you're interested in him." Kame's face changed.
"Don't be silly! I was just amazed that somebody that good-looking actually loves reading." Jin ruffled Kame's hair.
"Okay ..." Kame said quietly.
"So ... What do you think attracts people to reading?" Jin started tapping his pen on the wooden table.
"I think it's the feeling of escapism, if you ask me." Yamapi entered the room with a tray of delectable food. Everything was Kame and Jin's favourite!
"You're distracting us with all these good food!" Jin drooled.
"You SHOULD be distracted. Being too engrossed in work is not good, you know."
"Yeah yeah, we know. You are like our grandmother." Kame complained like a little child.
"So ... Do you need my help?" Yamapi settled himself beside Jin.
"Yeah. The more brains the better." Jin nodded vigorously while gorging down the food from his plate.
"You always use weird descriptions, Jin!" Kame laughed. "The more brains the better." Kame couldn't help but laughed even louder.
"Shut up!" Jin shouted with his mouth full and grains of rice flew out, landing on Kame's face.
"YOU ARE ONE GROSS PIECE OF SHIT, JIN!" Kame shouted and wiped his face frantically. "QUICK! YAMAPI! I NEED MY CLEANSER!"
"Just wipe it off with some wet tissue, Kame." Yamapi threw a packet of wet tissue to Kame.
Kame quickly wiped his face with a lot of force. Well, he is a clean freak afterall.
"Don't be so rough. Tsk." Jin grabbed Kame by the hand and wiped his face for him. "Don't ruin that pretty face of yours."
"Eh?" Kame blushed and looked down.
"Ah ... Ah ... I know what's going on!" Yamapi exclaimed with sudden realisation.
"Shut up even if you know." Jin immediately stopped wiping Kame's face and started burying his face in the rice.

Jin almost wanted to slap himself for his inability to control himself. His feelings for Kame are becoming more and more obvious even though his initial intention was to conceal them. Kame always catches him offguard and makes him do things impulsively. It's like his heart has taken over his mind already, and it is obviously a bad thing. It shouldn't happen! He shouldn't let himself fall deeper. He shouldn't get so attached to Kame anymore. It's going to hurt even more when Kame goes back to Maki one day.

Kame has no idea why his heart was thumping so hard. It was as if his heart was really going to break his ribcage and escape to Jin's heart. He knows that it is wrong but he feels like he's in love ... and the feeling is so strong that it seems like it has been there since years ago. Just what is going on with him? Jin is his best friend! How can he have such unorthodox feelings towards him? Besides ... What about Maki? She's married to him, and he's responsible for her!

For the next few hours, Kame and Jin only concentrated on their discussion about the project and nothing else. Not that they were too focused in the project, but because they were afraid of doing anything wrong; anything that might show their affection towards each other. Fate really loves to play tricks on people, don't it? Why doesn't it show mercy to this couple? Why?

Next day: In the office

"Jin, I needa leave the building for awhile. I've got somewhere I needa go." Kame quickly packed the files on his table to one side.
"Where are you going? You've just discharged you know. Let me drive you." Jin started walking towards Kame's table.
"No. It's okay. I can do it by myself." Before Jin could react, Kame had already grabbed his briefcase and ran out of the office.

"Mr Akanishi! Mr Akanishi!" Narimiya, one of the security guards guarding the entrance of the building, ran into the office.
"What?" Jin shot him an annoyed face. It was really rude of him to just barge into the office like that. He had set rules right at the beginning that before anyone enters the office, he or she should have the decency to ask them through the intercom right outside the door.
"I am so sorry for barging in like that! But when I was coming back from my lunch break, I overheard some guy talking on the phone, saying that he has already tampered with your car's brakes!" Before Narimiya could say any further, Jin had already rushed out of the office, sprinting at top speed, hoping to stop Kame in time.

"FUCK!" Jin shouted when he realised that Kame had already driven the car away. "Yamapi! Yamapi! Give me your fucking car keys! I need your car!" Jin started running towards Yamapi, who just got out of his own car and on his way to the building to give Kame and Jin their lunch.
"Huh? What the ...?" Before Yamapi could react, Jin snatched the keys and the car tore down the streets.

"Shit! Just where is Kame!" Jin sped aimlessly, worried like hell, hoping that he will find Kame soon. After 15 minutes of crazy driving, he finally found Kame driving at normal speed on one of the roads near his home. Jin immediately slowed down to accomodate Kame's speed and pressed the button furiously to run down the window, shouting his throat off at Kame.
"Run down the damn window, Kame!" Jin practically screamed his head off.
"What, Jin?" Kame ran down the window.
"Your brakes have been tampered with!" Jin was frustrated! He didn't what to do! What can he do! FUCK IT! He don't want to lose Kame again! "Slow down your fucking speed, Kame! SLOW DOWN!"
"What do I do?! What do I do, Jin?!" Kame was helpless. He didn't want to die. No!
"SLOW DOWN! FUCKING SLOW DOWN!"

Jin started to increase his speed a little to get ahead of Kame and he suddenly turned the car horizontal towards Kame. Kame's car banged into Jin's so hard that Jin almost flew off from his seat, thank God for the seat belt. All of a sudden, scenes started flashing through Kame's mind. Kame grabbed his hair at the excruciating pain his head was experiencing. The scenes continued flashing and all of them had him in it. He saw scenes of him when he was young, scenes of him when he was growing up, scenes of him when he first knew Jin, scenes of him when his parents died, scenes of him when he knew Maki ... The scenes just kept flashing and flashing so fast that Kame couldn't take it.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Kame screamed and he started crying. Blood was flowing from his forehead, where he hit the steering wheel hard.
"KAME! KAME! ARE YOU OKAY?" Jin screamed while stumbling to Kame, he himself pretty badly injured.
"Jin! JIN!" Kame tugged aggressively at Jin's blazer. "It's fucking pain! JIN! IT'S FUCKING PAINFUL!" Kame couldn't stop crying.
"I'll call the ambulance! I'll call the ambulance!" Jin started fumbling for his cellphone and quickly dialed for the ambulance.

"Jin!" Kame couldn't stop sobbing. "I remembered everything! I remembered everything!"
