this time around
this time around has been 1000 times better. after last time at maryville college, i really felt that i was incapable. i thought my mind was unable to process the difficult contortions required to manage getting through the mentally, morally, and self defining courses set by the college. i have found that i am completely capable and it has yet to cease in my amazement.
the college is different than most, of that i am sure. the school is church affiliated, but is very liberal all the same. it does not force its religion on anyone. yes, i am in a course where the bible is my textbook, but it is used strictly as a historical account, nothing more. it is used to peer into what the culture and society of the Hebrew people might have been like. there are countless courses that take nothing less than multiple mirrors reflecting you and your classmates inward in order to create a broader perspective. the turn out is priceless. well rounded is an understatement.
