Good weekend

Friday Vang took Sydney Li to the nail salon with him for the whole day. Its been a while since they've been on a date so it was fun for her. She brought toys and coloring books and they have satelite tv so she was entertained when he was busy with clients. He took her to lunch and dinner at McDonalds and gave her a manicure, a wax foot treatment and a pedicure. Treated her like a like a princess. ViVi was in school but when she got out I took her to KiKi's to fill out invitations for the baby shower and she had Jared (again) so the kids kinda sorta played. Mostly they got into trouble and tore up the house while ViVi tried to be a role model and set a good example. Mostly this consisted of tuning out all the noise and ignoring the boys crashing around her.

Saturday Vang took ViVi to the salon for the whole day but he was much busier and couldn't spend a s much time together. He ended up orddering chinese, which got delivered from right next door so I hope there was no delivery fee, for lunch and dinner. Luckily Sydney got the same toy twice the day before and didn't mind sharing one with her big sis. Plus ViVi is a bit more independent and didn't mind reading her "chapter book" and watching tv. I bought a whole stack of books from a garage sale that she is loving so far. She tells everyone she is saving "Ghosts don't eat Potato chips" for last because it will probably be the best one. She got a french manicure on her fingers and toes. I had to get acryillic nails before I could have them but her toe nails are long enough, and pretty enough, to do them au naturale! Sydney and I went to the local street fest but left after and hour. they had a good band who started out their set with the electric slide just to get the over thirty growd going and we all danced and had big fun but it was very hot and we pooped out quickly. Plus food was mega expensive so we went home for naps. We did manage through a few phone calls to snag aunt Kiki for dinner and then went back for more dancing. The band leader was hot and had an accent but I couldn't recognize any of his music even though he kept saying who wrote it and it ws all bands I knew he promised not to play any cover songs so I was lost. Vang and ViVi met us out there and we had fun dancing but the crow got to big and it was hard to keep track of all the kids so we bailed out at around 9:30. Still a late night for us so it wasn't bad at all. When we left we walked single file to try and plow through the crowd to our car. Kiki was in a black straight skirt with wide studded belt and blak halter top and was still uncomfortably hot. When we left Vang had Sydney and ViVi KikI had Jared and I followed them with Thomas. I heard three different men (just far enough apart to be out of each others hearing range but close enough together to be funny) exclaim the same sentiments in different tones conveying different emotions in the same vein. It went like this: "Damn!" (Did you see how pregnant she was?) "DAMN!"(She's got her hands full!) "DA-MN!" (Did you see the size of her breasts!)

Sunday we got up early enough to bug bomb the house then met Kiki, most of Vangs family and one family friend and go to eckerts for apple picking. We do this every year but this is the first year we didn't do it to celebrate Sydney's birthday. It was fun but not as chock full of funny stories as our normal outings cause it was hot and my whole brood suffered from bug bites and allergies. Plus we get off the wagon and the woman announces that the black spots on all the apples are from a hail storm last spring and should not deter us from eating perfectly fine apples. Bleh. Who wants to pick spotted apples when the whole point was to get the best off the tree instead of someone elses second choice form the store. Two thngs were good though. Sydney Li finally got up the courage to tell Johnny Appleseed that they shared the same birthday. She didn't look him in the eye but she didn't duck under the table either. When I told him ( this gangly teenager with a pot on his head) how scared she was of him and how this is the first year she didn't run screaming from him he smiled and gave her a pocket full of apple flavored tootsie rolls. When we go tto the apple picking Thomas thought it went along the lines of an Easter Egg Hunt and kept streaking at full speed down the orchard rows screaming "I found one! I found a apple!" this is a very large apple orchard and there are apples everywhere but it was only the ones staring him in the face that got picked but he still managed to fill three huge bags with apples . . . none of them good enough to eat.

And thats what I did on the first weekend of Fall.
