Meanwhile, over on MySpace,
this person, whoever they are, are officially the first - possibly only - person to not make us immediately want to a) kill them or at least b) find their music player and stop it, upon loading up their page. Instead, if I had music playing at the time (which, rarely, I didn't) I would've paused it. Well done you.
At the same time MySpace continues to riddle me with hatred. It's not bad enough they have to sound annoying and cut into the comfort of my home (is there any way of defaulting other people's profiles to stop?) but they all, pretty much across the board, look awful. Like, nauseating awful. Actually, I literally just gouged out one of my eyeballs to protect it. It's sitting in a jar next to the computer. My depth perception is in tatters. All thanks to MySpace. Gash.
Finally, last night I went to a Hip Hop night somewhere. It was great in its way. The unsigned and local acts were alright, the main event Inja and Skuff, were pretty damn tight but it was more than that. It was the fact hardly anyone was in there, they were all sitting down and the DJ was playing songs most people had never heard before. So, in a way, it was just a load of people out listening to music. I'm currently listening to Pinch's Qawwali - one of the songs of the week easily - thinking, this would be awesome from a decent soundsystem. Well, either awesome or fatal. But either way, awesome. Except who do I know in this town who just listens to all sorts of different styles of music for the sake of listening to them, cuz, like, music's well gear innit. Nobody. Wounder.
Anyway, yes, the idea still stands correct. Music, speakers, drink, comfy chairs, nice surroundings, top notch. One to bear in mind.
