The weather has been rather depressing throughout my New York visit, and I think this reflects the prevailing mood of the place. As a major center of finance in the US, this is a city where the economic downturn is really being felt. Many of the firms I've visited are in the midst of "rationalisation", with heavy job losses.

I've had my laptop for three years and three months now. The warranty period is three years. Thus, inevitably this is the time that things start breaking.

As with cars, there comes a time when you stop relying on the manufacturer to keep it new and shiny, you roll up your sleeves and open the bonnet...

Krista and I were in the Blue Mountains this weekend, and paid a visit to Jenolan Caves. Last time I was there I saw the Orient Cave (if I recall correctly), this time we did the Imperial Cave - perhaps not quite as spectacular, but it does include a visit to the underground river...
