N.B. This is just a digital crop out of the center of an image, I don't own a lens that can do that sort of zoom!

The latter is rather technically challenging because you need a small aperture to get the trees and the moon both in focus, but you also need a relatively fast shutter speed or the moon moves too far during the exposure (as is starting to happen here). Which are generally incompatible. It would work better if the tree was a little further away and thus less out of focus.
