...I'm really at a loss.

Needless to say, Spider-Man is alive and that disgusting black monster won't be back. How do I know?

The fight was televised.

((Cut for major SM3 spoilers)) )

I'm... as completely lost as you are. The Ing were somewhat 'gooey' when outside of a host and trying to escape, but I never saw them gloat. The didn't have human speech, and they weren't that stupid.

So it's gone now, and no one has any idea of what it was or where it came from? What the hell.

Ugh. Tell me about it. That thing was an insult to supervillains. So you don't believe it to be an Ing after all?

Spider-Man might know, if it is indeed related to his black suit. I can't exactly ask him.

Given that their entire species is presumed dead, it was never very likely in the first place. I shouldn't have jumped to conclusions, but... I may have gotten carried away by the idea that they could be back. Worrying.

He might, and if he didn't, he might know why the monster was after him specifically- which would at least be something.

You're fully justified in believing so, what with the way the creature looked. And it's your frame of reference, too - of course you're gonna look at this completely foreign thing and equate it to something you know.

...Somehow I doubt he'd be willing to speak with me now.

If I was there it would've all been over much more quickly. Not the long drawn-out mess it was. They would've all been dead - I can't stand Osborn, showboating monsters, or that sand bastard either. (He left a bunch of sand on my fire escape the other day. Asshole.)

...You know, so what if I am? I've found I like fighting.

"Pity no one got a good shot (or sample) of it..."

I know. I was so looking forward to it. ;_____;

But if the hero was killed, how would his story continue?

Sorry, buddy. You know I would've snatched that sample for you if I could.

...What do you mean? It wouldn't, of course it wouldn't.

Thankyou;__;

And if Spiderman were dead and his story couldn't continue, how could you... what's that phrase they use... kick his ass?

Ah, that. My feelings are mixed regarding him. I enjoyed fighting him, beating him within an inch of his life... but I don't believe I'd be happy if he died.

I'm trying to think up some coherent response to all this, and all I can really come up with is "fascinating".

It's funny, because this is not uncommon on my world. At least, not in New York. We've had Green Goblin, that black monster, Sandman, yours truly, along with a score of relatively minor crazies. That's not even counting the mutants. Only thing different about this is that everyone saw it this time.

The black thing have anything to do with that black outfit of Spiderman's?

I assume so, yes. He wasn't wearing the suit when he fought the thing.

...Wasn't it you who said Spider-Man's exploits were made into movies on your world?

Hm.

That was me.

Well... then wouldn't you know? It makes me wonder just how accurate those movies are.
