Click, click. Misaki adjusted the lens of the Camera Obscura prototype she had made, extending the view to locate the poltergeist which had wandered too far from inside the forest. With the new extension she could see farther away, letting her linger at a safe distance while still getting the shots that she needed. The photography part of the camera was perfect, even if the distance was not as far as she would have liked, but the spirit photography was another matter entirely. She stood at the edge of the road, halfway between the forest and the market, and opened the barrier she placed against her spirit powers. The outside of the viewfinder seemed to glow as she felt the power gathering.
One snap was all it took to knock the poltergeist back. Through the lens she saw its anger but it only retreated into the forest. Soon after she could hear familiar voices of the dead calling out to her, beckoning her to join them in the forest.
"I don't think so." She rolled her eyes as she lowered her camera, sitting down on a rock by the road and picking up her notebook to write down some notes. She smiled softly as the voices stopped and allowed her body to relax as she stared towards the forest. Her task may still be considered a sort of work to some but she was enjoying herself.
