Okay, saw "The Muppets" yesterday and... It was a good movie...
BUT...
The one thing that I've always loved about the Muppets is how they managed to be both "innocent" AND "subversive". The film, to me, overdid the "innocence" to the point of being saccharine at times (mostly due to that blatant "Mary Sue" of a character, Walter) and forgot to give it a proper sense of subversiveness. Oh, there are a couple of moments, particularly the "I inspired you to KIDNAP PEOPLE?!!" scene, but it just wasn't enough of a balance.
That's about my only complaint though. See the film, it's good.
Frank Oz needs to lighten up.
