So it's been a month and I'm slowly settling into the routine of motherhood. I still haven't been able to wash my hair more than once every 1.5 weeks, but that's something that I'm slowly working on. I still have the muffin top remaining, but surprisingly I am 10kg lighter than when I became pregnant. The diet control gestational diabetes was effectively a weight loss diet.
The kid is thriving (apparently) according to his weight gain. I am finding pumping and feeding tough. I tired him on the breast with the nipple shield today and he's figured it out that if he sucks a bit wait the milk pools in the shield and then he just has to slurp it up. It's quite annoying, I have to phone the lactation consultant again and discuss what the next steps are.
My life has narrowed horribly to the internet and home. It's like I'm one of those 600 lb people who are housebound except my weight is a newborn.
Hopefully it gets easier soon.
