Armature is playtesting an alpha build of Dead Star and I still have some download codes left. If you have a Playstation 4 with PSN Plus and can play on Fridays and Saturdays starting at 8:30 Central, I can send a code your way.

I finally got around cleaning the contacts on my Vectrex game system and cartridges, which had gotten glitchy due to 30+ years of oxidation. I wasn't paying that close attention at the time, though to be fair I wasn't paying that close attention to Doom itself. Gloom was the one that I'd read about and seen bits of but never played myself.

SUPERHOT is a 7-day First Person Shooter contest entry whose core premise is "time moves only when you do". The result is very different from the standard "bullet time" mechanic.

Final Boss demo

The gameplay is solid and has all kinds of fun shmup references that give it personality. It's definitely worth a try.

The embedded YouTube videos do it a terrible disservice since the demo itself runs at a smooth 60 FPS.

I'd be much more likely to play this than the real version if it existed. :)
