So I am still in Houston for the time being. I am still job hunting in Austin. Prospects are looking better but I still have not convinced anyone to take a chance on me. It is hard to get your foot in the door some place where you don't live and don't intend to live until you have a job secured. Also, it is tough when people want to pay you 25k for a job that requires a degree. I am sorry but degrees cost 30k (if not a hellva lot more pending where you attended) so jobs need to start at least 35k. Employers are fucking kidding themselves if they think I want to apply for a job that pays 25k, I know desperate times call for desperate measures but I will be damned if I sell myself or my hard work short like that. Another thing that is aggravating. Is the lack of professional courtesy from these people I have interviewed with. I mean damn, if I take time out of my work day, spend $70 to get to Austin and back the least people could do is send an e-mail saying the position has been filled. I am trying to make my trips really worth it these days by packing 2-3 interviews in a trip.
Other than that life is good, besides pinning for Austin over the weekends. It is just so damn hot here with nothing to do. At least in Austin I can head to a swimming hole and people watch all day. My sister graduates from high school this weekend, another friend graduates from medical school, and the best friend will be in town this weekend too.
