I got blocked by someone on Facebook today whom I've been acquainted with for several years. This is the third "friend" I've lost in about two weeks. Robin Williams died yesterday. He committed suicide at the age of 63 following a lifelong battle with depression. The world is stunned. Many don't understand how a man so beloved and with such a revered body of work could make such a choice.

It has not been the most awesome couple of weeks overall. Last Wednesday we had to replace the battery in M.'s car. Thankfully the car died in the driveway so it wasn't like we had to rescue it from anywhere. The unexpected expense was not comfortable but whatever, we managed. July 20th 2012 was one of those shocking national tragedies we're so used to in America. A crazily well-prepared, heavily armed PhD student stormed a midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises, murdering 12 people and wounding 50 more.
