Gaming:

Started Dead Island finally. Got bored after a bit because it was all fetch quests and I'm not really in the mood for that, so I quit that. Then I played some Shadow of the Colossus HD and raged a bit. The PS2 version is easily among my top all time favorite games. The HD remake version makes me want to throw a TV through the controller. I was swearing out loud at my TV on multiple occasions. Apparently the colossi just need to walk in order to shake you violently until you fly off. You NEVER have enough time to charge up a full, proper attack. Knowing the "trick" to some of them, it shouldn't take more than 5-10 minutes for me to beat a colossus, but the third and fourth ones took like an hour each. I'm contemplating rage quitting until they patch it to fix the game...but...I kind of have a feeling they won't =/

Drawing:

I was going to go down to Renfrew to a newly opened art store and stock up on supplies, but I've been incredibly sleepy all day and I don't know why. I even fell asleep on the skytrain (I had to go out to pick up Atelier Totori special edition). So I said screw it. I did pick up some manila sketchbooks at the dollar store on my way home though.

For actual drawing I did 2 more 5-7 minute figure pose sketches from posemaniacs (one turned out awkward and uneven looking, the other was a lot quicker and I was rather pleased with it). I've noticed the random pose generator gives me a LOT of back views. I've been drawing lots of backs and butts =/

After that I did a portrait sketch with charcoal on the manila paper. Sketched a portrait of Matt Smith (The 11th Doctor from Doctor Who). Even though the picture I was using as reference had him smiling he looked more.....scary...in my sketch. It must have been the dark eyes (but he does have really deep eye sockets in real life...). Shading felt good. Haven't done any shading in years and I think the picture turned out good. I just need to work on capturing a individuals likeness with I draw. So I'll be doing a lot more portraits for practice..
