Oh my, is my weekend almost over again?
Yesterday I decided not to be maudiln and got busy in the house. Unpacked some more boxes (some large ones, so there's more room in the Den/Room of Requirement. It's still not useable, but it's getting there.) and am really deciding that a yard/garage sale is a GOOD idea in the near future. Mowed the lawn. It took almost 2 hours, probably due to the extension cord. I'm still plotting the most efficient way to get about the lawn.
Today I had the plumber come to fix the valve to the fridge. We have water *to* the fridge, but not coming out of the dispenser, and the icemaker is making one lonely ice cube at a time. At least it's making them, though. I also transplanted an oak sapling from right next to the house to the backyard. Hopefully it'll survive.
After "brunch" I went to go update my license. On the way, I noticed the road leading me there is a new-to-me shortcut to a particular area I like to visit... and there's a Lowe's back there I hadn't noticed before. Oooh!
So, now I have a working garden hose (and holder/cart thingee), got a sturdy plant hanger for my topsy-turvy strawberries (which is nearly impossible to sink completely into the ground. Clay soil + tree roots = owie), insect fogger for the shed (the wasps are trying to make a comeback), pneumatic-style door closer for the storm door, and a new flag for the mailbox. I also got light bulbs, but they're the wrong socket size, so I'll have to exchange them in a bit. Oh, and my impulse buy: a towel hanger that clips onto the top of the kitchen cabinet door. Score!
Playing in the yard is fun! ...can anyone tell me about these firepit things I keep seeing? I like the idea of setting things on fire, but what else are they "good" for?
