Had a fun and eventful weekend. Friday was pretty ordinary, lazing and sketching a little before raiding. We tried out the Ruby Sanctum, but got our asses handed to us on the first lieutenant dragonkin in there. Several wipes on trash, then our tanks just couldn't handle it. So we went and did some known content in Icecrown. I finally upgraded my priest's armor from the 'normal' version to the 'middle' level of gear, which effectively puts all of my character's armor in the 'Middle' quality in terms of game content. The only way to further upgrade is to get the 'Heroic' versions of the fights down and get special tokens from them... but to do that we first have to defeat the Lich King in normal mode. We still can't get Putricide down with any sort of guarantee. I'm worried that the raid is going to start breaking up due to such poor performances.
I went down to visit with Flinters on Saturday. We hung out as three 'roos are wont to, mob mentality and all. Watched some videos, Axel and Flinters worked on 'Fizzle', their new fursuit character, and I managed to get a comic strip inked up along with a little more writing. I should be able to clean it up in Photoshop and get it posted soon.
July 4th was fun as well. Axel took me down south to where his mom and dad live, and showed me a little lakefront lot where everyone came to launch their fireworks... both the legal sparkler and spinny flower kinds and the fun kinds. I bought some giant roman candles and a 'smoke grenade' to play with, and had a blast. The candles launched small versions of professional fireworks, and I suppose that's the closest I'll ever come to actually using a wand like in World of Warcraft... or casting Magic Missile. The smoke grenade was a dud, it just sorta smoked and made a cloud. No explosions or fun. Axel bought a big 300-shot 'TNT' firework thing... we took some video of it, I'll have to poke him about uploading them to YouTube tomorrow.
