➡️ Sho's father, Sakurai Shun, is a former government official who served as Vice Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications, and later as Vice President of Dentsu Group.
➡️ The rumours/noise Sho mentioned would have started after the former governor of Tokyo (Masuzoe Yoichi) resigned in June 2016 due to the misuse of public funds.
➡️ Part of why there was so much speculation about Sakurai Shun running was because he was reputed to have a head for business and because he was Sho's father.
➡️ Sakurai Shun had stated via an interview with media outlets on 2016.06.15 that even if he was offered the role, he'd be honoured but had no intention of running for the Tokyo gubernatorial election as he only had experience in information and communications and did not think he was fit for the role.

Okay, I know nobody wants to wade through someone's life story when they're just looking for a recipe BUT in case anyone grabs this and feels let down since it's very short and can barely be called an 'Ohno' sub:
