Good morning. This is Arashi's Ohno Satoshi.
Here's today's thought of the day; come on!

"The music speaks for itself." [1]

[BGM 'A.RA.SHI']

This is a quote by the jazz musician Miles Davis-san.

This was sent in by listener Yuuka-san. The message reads:
"After work ended, my mother told me, 'We're doing karaoke right now, you coming?' Although I was exhausted, I dragged myself over to the karaoke place. I was told that my younger brother would sing 'A.RA.SHI' to me. They'd entered my brother's favourite, the Arashi debut song. As he was about to sing - there was another mic besides the one my brother was singing enthusiastically into - my father, who wasn't about to lose to him, picked up the mic and also started singing enthusiastically. Although it was my specialty! But it was really fun and even though I was tired from work, singing songs refreshed me. It made me realise the greatness of music."

Ohh. I'm glad!

I'm really happy that everyone knew the song! It's amazing that you went for karaoke with your family! The last time I went was probably... when I was about 20?

And then when I was living in Kyoto, when I was 16 years old, my family came to watch the stageplay that I was doing in Kyoto.

And then since they came over for about 2 days, that was when I went for karaoke with my family for the first time.

And then I sang stuff like Go Hiromi-san's 'I Miss You So Much I Can't Help It' (逢いたくてしかたない). I remember that they praised me for it. (laughs) "That's the first time we've properly heard you sing!"

Mm. And then 'Can't Say It' (言えないよ) - also Go Hiromi-san's. They sang it at Kouhaku the other day. It kinda reminded me of when I was 16.

There's another message here. From Rina-san of Saitama.
"I'm working in the apparel line and during the New Year time sale, they play songs that everyone knows. When Arashi-san's 'A.RA.SHI' was playing, all the customers who came were dancing the steps and humming the song. Everyone was shopping really happily. Even though we were really busy on New Year's Day, that felt really fun."

Ohh. That's amazing.

For me, sometimes when I go buy things, occasionally there'd be music playing in the store and I'd be like, "I've heard this somewhere before... Uwaa, it's an Arashi song!"

And then long ago, someone spotted me. I guess someone spotted me when I was shopping alone? Just as I was thinking, "I'm so tired,", 'Love So Sweet' started playing. I don't really know why, but I felt really embarrassed.

So it happens quite a bit. Naturally, it does. I mean, when I'm walking on the streets and I see a poster of myself, I get embarrassed.

Once, I had stopped for a traffic light. I think I was rushing somewhere, probably. And I was like, 'Uwaa, how long is this gonna take?'

Then when I glanced behind, like above, there are usually signboards and stuff. And there was my face, blown up to about my height, staring down at me.

I panicked. I thought about taking a photo, but then if anyone saw me, that'd be the worst, wouldn't it? (laughs) Like, people'd be like, "This guy really loves himself, doesn't he?" (laughs)

Well, that's how I live!

That's all; this was Ohno Satoshi!
