Things have been really great lately. The weather has been cooling off and I'm ready for fall. Bring on jeans and sweaters!
I spent the labor day weekend up in the thumb with Katie and her family. They have a cottage right on the shores of Lake Huron, in Lexington. Its such a cute little town, and I loved loved loved the fact that they had a private beach! Made it much more enjoyable to lay out and sun myself, romp around with the dogs, and skip rocks. It was the most relaxing weekend that I can remember in awhile. Oh, and Katie's family is great! It was so great to get to know them all and feel like part of the family.
The 4 day weeks have been nice- workwise. I'm still not sure I really 'get' my job yet. There's a lot of financial planning and budgeting that I'm not used to handling, and its really hard to wrap my brain around. So many different people to go to for different things, and it seems like just when I think I understand, another piece gets added into the puzzle. Ack! I know I just have to keep diving right in and pushing through until things fall into place, but for now, its really frustrating to not be at the top of my game.
Speaking of games, last weekend was our softball league's playoffs. We started Saturday morning at 10 and played 4 games pretty much back to back. We ended up in the championship game against WDIV (local television station) and won it all. It was such a great feeling, and alllllmost makes up for these sore muscles I've got right now. Saturday night, after the games I went and played poker at my co-worker Dan's house. I met his fiancee Vita, got a tour of their adorable house and learned how to play Texas Hold Em. Its not as hard as I had thought. Although, I'm no good at bluffing and instead just kept a smile on my face throughout the entire game, as to confuse everyone.
Chris and I are going to see Bjork tomorrow at the Fox Theatre. I can't wait! It should be an amazing show!
