A rare post

Livejournal seems to have gone by the wayside a bit, what with other technology (such as Facebook) making it easy to keep up-to-date with friends by the minute. I still check here a lot but never seem to find the time to post!

Life has been going great for us, and we've been enjoying our first winter as a married couple. We finished a big house project just before Thanksgiving: my music room (someday to also be the library). Haven't done anything big since then, but we're gearing up to begin more house fixing tonight. I'm still waiting on my Tahoe transmission to be rebuilt too. It's almost all taken apart, and once that is done a rebuild kit can be purchased and it can be put back together!

With five jobs (albeit part-time), I guess I just don't "feel" like posting when I am home, although I am still on the computer A LOT! We've also been trying all week to turn a VHS tape into a DVD...the first methods we were trying (with a borrowed device to capture the video) did not work as they should have, so Wednesday night we bought our own device. The capturing went great, I added some text and chapters last night, and now we're stuck at the point where you put the movie onto a DVD. There's some sort of bug with the software, which causes the blue screen of death (something I haven't seen in a VERY LONG time). And of course the online chat support ended at 9 PM, and we wanted to use it at 9:40 PM after trying a few times on our own and even reinstalling the program. So what should have been a few hour project has been stretching out all week (we started Sunday evening). Hopefully a solution will be found tonight!

Well, there are always things to do. I should wash some dishes before changing and heading out to two more jobs. On Fridays I leave home around 7:45 AM, am back for a little over an hour (early lunchtime and changing for the later job), and back on the road for more work, which I end at 5 PM. But then I run into Friday evening traffic, so instead of getting home by 5:40 it's usually around 6 or later!!!
