Not too good at this, huh?

I'm not so good at this posting thing anymore. I think about it a lot, but then I don't really feel like doing it.

So much has happened/changed since my last post mid-January! For starters, we're going to have a baby!!! About 5 weeks to go, give or take! This is very exciting, and I love feeling and seeing the baby move in my "tummy" because it took a long time for that to happen (I have an anterior placenta which acted like a "cushion"). It's good to know the baby is there all the time (especially since I don't actually feel the extra weight and belly) and not just know when I hear the heartbeat at appointments or see the picture at ultrasounds.

Let's see, what else? I am down to 4 part-time jobs, because one position which I loved and had for 9 years was discontinued. It was also the furthest away though, so it has been wonderful not driving an extra 120 or so miles 1-2 times a week.

We've done a lot more work in and out of the house, including but not limited to fixing up the laundry room, starting some work on the bar area, completely redoing 2 other basement rooms (office and my brother's room--oh, yeah, he moved in late spring, but isn't around a whole lot), setting up the nursery (it used to be our office), changing the spare room a bit, redoing all the hardwood floors, planting a bunch of perennials, and making a pond in the backyard. All work (except carpet laying) that we did (some with help from parents).

I am looking forward to December and January completely off for my baby! And then my mom worked out her schedule so she can come 3 mornings/early afternoons a week to be with the baby while I still get in some of my current jobs. (Of course, I'd love to just be home all the time).

We celebrated our 1st anniversary in June (3 fun days in the Duluth area) and took a week off in the summer for the annual "cabin" trip (lots of fishing, reading outside, swimming, and more). I lost one grandma, and my other grandparents celebrated their 60th anniversary. For both of these events, I created memory books...for my one grandma I typed out her story as written by her in a grandma book I have plus wrote an essay about my memories and added lots of pictures, while for my other grandparents I had all the family members submit a page or so (memories, congratulations, etc.) and pictures, so it was a gift from everyone! I've been to my favorite zoo 4 times and 2 other zoos, spent a lot of time on the computer, gone shopping, hung out with friends at various parties and a wedding, and so much more! My latest big project is sewing a "tummy time playmat" for baby, and I also just created a soundtrack last night to go with a picture book called "Juke Box" (making little clips from songs of the genres that are pictured in the book).

All in all, it's been a busy but fun year so far, and the best part is yet to come! :)
