Nine (and one tardy Aussie) make Two

Well I was going well for a while there, and had gotten back on the blogging wagon but after a busy weekend and week I seemed to have slipped a little!

Not to worry, I'm good at climbing back on.

So even though I haven't been blogging I have been stitching and making and sewing and crafting and loving.

At the moment I'm loving hand quilting.

Plushes, stamps, needle felting, and now hand-sewn quilts? Goodness, woman! Share some of the talent pie! :P

Now I want to go sew...

I'm thinking... I really want to hand piece a whole proper big quilt like this but I think maybe the novelty will wear off very quickly! I might have to resort to machine piecing.

I dunno, I think it'd make a lovely long-term project. Just something to keep around for dreary days where you need some monotony. I love crafts like that.

Lovely work! I have a few projects I am months behind in, I don't even know how to start!

Oh, the tree squares are so brilliant! I've always wanted to do something like that, trees being my obsession. So, is paper piecing something that you do when you want to piece together slanting or otherwise irregular lines? I really like that effect, but paper pieceing is something I don't even know the first thing about.

You can use foundation piecing to piece straight or wonky lines - it's very accurate! There are a few ways to foundation piece or paper piece - there's a very good tutorial over here:http://www.twiddletails.com/store/index.php?main_page=page&id=21

And here is a quickie tutorial on my method here: http://twocheeseplease.livejournal.com/46065.html
Which I need to update because my skills have increased since then so I now know how to avoid that messy step near the end!

I really will try to do a more detailed tutorial on my method (cause I'm biased and like it more) soon!
