BTW, Rikkai, Seigaku, Rokkaku, Fudomine, Yamabuki, and Midoriyama are all qualified to go to Nationals. It's the Final Four plus the two consolation winners. We can expect 18 more teams from the 6 other prefectures to be in the Nationals, as well. ^^

DO NOT TEMPT ME. The last section was originally going to be that Yuuta leaves the day Yukimura dies, but I thought that was too random, as I had built up the impression that Yukimura wasn't ailing, he was starting to recover, or something.

DUDE. I meant something short and silly and you write me this detailed beautiful portrait of my favourite boy all eloquently muddled up and conflicted instead. (my favourite characters are Kiri closely shadowed by Yukimura, so NO WRONG DONE HERE, NONE AT ALL, and if you want to do it again of your own accord BY ALL MEANS).
in Yagyuu's voice with that breathiness around it I love the little things, like this, because they felt so casually slipped in and yet are the reason why this fic feels so fully fleshed out. I love how Kiri doesn't try to explain to himself why he's eavesdropping until the end. and the timing and turn of phrase AT the end.
even if Rikkai loses, they'll still go on to Nationals, or something both Rikkai and Seigaku will, yes. Sanada was just being a dorky poo and promising Yukimura the Kantou Tournament trophy, is all. but I have no problems suspending reality for this lovely, none at all. thank you <3

Short and silly doesn't work with me, unless we are talking about boyband AU, in which case it is ALL TOO EASY. Although Rikkai is not in the boyband AU. Hm. We may have to change this.
Suddenly I was grasped with the urge to write Yukimura/Kirihara, so. And then I stared at your request and though, okay, so maybe I can just NUDGE Fuji in there somehow so no one will know the difference or something. Ahahahaha.

Wait until we figure out how to actually write the scene where Mizuki picks up Sengoku except Sengoku mistakes the whole thing for a hitting on/flirting thing and uh. *laughs* It is not a very lucky way to begin.
I think I fall in love with schools as I write them, although stupidly enough Seigaku will always be my favorite. Poor Rikkai. I think the producers do not like them very much. THey might lose just because that fine line between Seigaku and Rikkai will be crossed because we're all biased. (ne, ne, ifwedonotwinTezukawillnevercomeback *GASP* DEATH! kind of thing).

There are so many things I love about this fic. I love the way you describe Fuji's voice, and Yukimura's, I love how Kirihara stays outside the door and never goes in - I love how he can't let go, but at the same time, can't take the step that will bring him closer, and the tension between being caught in the middle like that, that you write so, so well.
I love the way that you deal with Yukimura's illness, how you show that Sanada is a vice-captain, and always will be the vice-captain to Kirihara. And this part - "Kirihara remembers how Yukimura used to be able to hit a tennis ball so hard that it would cause Kirihara's racquet to fly right back up into his face. Remembers how Yukimura used to be able to run faster than any of them, used to be able to hit harder, used to be able to serve smoother, and play better than any of them." - took my breath away, and I still can't stop turning it over in my head, because that's what it *is*, that's what this means, and it's so tragic and heartbreaking
