Do you have or can you find a picture of the Sendai mascot? I had one and accidentally deleted it :( Thank you!

He is a cow with a crown, an eye patch, and his tongue sticking out.

Nope. I definitely saw that one in Sendai, but there's another one I saw on the bus.

Oh you've actually answered a question for me. We saw this guy dancing in a shopping mall to a Japanese version of ABBAs SOS! Not sure what he was doing in Ueno though.

Nope, I love them all though! It got me thinking about what mascots each state in America would have...

Hahaha :D

Is it even close, though? Do you remember colour, shape... anything else?

Is it this guy? xD

That's really close! Except he had a samurai helmet! He was rounder like the other characters.

Lol! Could it be Gyutan-chan, except wearing an eye patch and a helmet? I'm guessing gyutan is a Sendai specialty, my character hunt has taught me something new :P

Or is it Gyusenmaru?

YOU FOUND IT! It was a Gyusenmaru! Thank you!
I need a tee shirt.

Oh yeah. We ate A LOT of gyutan in Sendai. Hilarious.
We were looking for a place to eat and a guy jumped out of a restaurant, 'YOU COME EAT HERE!" So we did. All beef tongue. We ordered it all and swapped plates. Curried, grilled, souped, in tomato sauce...

When my uncle took us to the Takko Beef and Garlic Festival I asked ahead of time, "Will there be traditional dancing there or something?"
"Yes, that's exactly what will be there."
When we got there he pointed at the dancing garlic, cow, and eggplant mascots and said, "That's about as traditional Japanese as you get!"
