A couple of weeks ago a sponsored tweet (of all things) alerted me of a big music festival/convention happening in Tokyo that was also somehow completely free for foreigners to attend

I asked Mondo Mascots, and this was the only Sendai mascot he knew of. It's Musubi Maru. Not sure it's who you're looking for. He is an onigiri wearing a samurai armour XD

Nope. I definitely saw that one in Sendai, but there's another one I saw on the bus.

Oh you've actually answered a question for me. We saw this guy dancing in a shopping mall to a Japanese version of ABBAs SOS! Not sure what he was doing in Ueno though.
