Do you have or can you find a picture of the Sendai mascot? I had one and accidentally deleted it :( Thank you!

He is a cow with a crown, an eye patch, and his tongue sticking out.

Nope. I definitely saw that one in Sendai, but there's another one I saw on the bus.

I'd stalked them more if I'd known they'd be this popular XD I should do a post about my city's mascot characters!

You totally should! I love them. Kumamon will always be a fave of course but I really like the mascot for Kyoto Tower too. Oh, and the National Museum have some cute ones.

In a way, this event kinda reminds me of the JapanFest held in Atlanta each year. It used to be outdoors at a park, but now it's indoors at the arena that also hosts the local hockey team and various concerts, which makes more sense to me. JapanFest is obviously targeted at foreigners haha but it has a lot of stuff similar to Moshi Moshi...maybe not the assortment of civic mascots, though, but those are hilarious and now I'm imagining what ones would be for American states. Georgia's has to be a peach, that's what we're best known for, and Florida's can be an orange for the same reason. Ohio is the buckeye, a nut that is actually moderately toxic and creates, uh, "gastrointestinal disturbances" if eaten. (Yikes! But that's why they make candy that looks like the buckeye without the troubles.) Kentucky could be a horse because of horse racing there. But some states are a bit challenging, so this is fun to imagine!
