I've had my job for exactly one year today! Yay, me! I guess I've learnt a lot during my time at the office, but I still feel pretty much the same as I did when I first began. The company I work for celebrate their 20th (!) anniversary this Friday, so there is going to be food and drinks and things after work. Also a live webcast, which should be interesting. I'm kind of looking forward to it, but I hope I'm not the only one at my office who's agreed to attend. That would be weird.
I've started two new video games;
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 (DS) and
THEiDOLM@STER: SP (PSP).
The Dragon Quest game is what I wish Pokémon could have evolved into. Or something. I'm not really sure, I mean... this pretty much is Pokémon, but it doesn't feel as tedious, and the exploration aspect of it is a lot more... exploration-y ... yes, that's a word. Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2 was the thing everyone was playing when I went to Tokyo last summer. The huge Yodobashi in Akihabara had tons of Dragon Quest themed benches outside so that people could gather and play (I think there were also some arranged tournaments, but I might remember wrong). Now I finally get to see what all the commotion was about. Looking forward to delving deeper into the synthesising of monsters (I actually understand how it works here, as opposed to in Pokémon where things were just weirdly confusing). Despite being very Pokémon-y, it's also unmistakably Dragon Quest-y. The characters, the music, the atmosphere ♥
Now.. iDOLM@STER is so fucked up, it really kind of deserves a post of its own, but I'll say this for now; I love it. I've been wanting to play iDOLM@STER ever since I first saw it, and this PSP version is living up to all my expectations. No, that's not quite right, because honestly I had no expectations. It's both better and creepier than I imagined, and it's addictive as hell. So, so difficult, though. And if you screw up, you have to start ALL OVER. So.. that's definitely a challenge. Especially when you at character creation decided to channel
Tsunku, and chose a hyper 13 year old over a talented 16 year old or a tomboy (also 16) to be your talent. Heh. I CAN DO IT. PRACTICE ALL THE SKILLS! TRY NOT TO MAKE HER CRY TOO MUCH! ....
