Since I haven't posted anything remotely resembling an update in months, I thought I would take the night off from fall semester prep and jot down a few bullet points. Facebook has made me way too lazy, in that I can post a one-sentence update in my "status" and call it a day. Maybe I should just give up and look into Twitter?

So, wow. I never seem to get a minute anymore to email absent friends or post to my blogs (this one and the Vox one I keep under another name to keep family up-to-date on my "frozen bosom of the north" adventures).

I promised an update, but I'm not really in the mood. School is going well, the teaching is OK (we actually had a pretty good discussion going about Dubliners today), and the kids like their preschool, but for some reason--sparked in part I think by an exchange with a teacher that I'm not crazy about--I have overwhelming feelings of homesickness ( Read more... )
