Got the reading list today for the course I'm going to be TA-ing (actually, teaching two discussion sections of) in the fall. How cool is this?

Dubliners (Joyce)
To the Lighthouse (Woolf)
As I Lay Dying (Faulkner)
Beloved (Morrison)

The Leopard (di Campedusa)
Lord of the Flies (Golding)
Waiting for the Barbarians (Coetzee)
Things Fall Apart (Achebe)

We TAs each get to choose one from the first list (the "hard" ones) and one from the second (the "easy" ones) and our sections will have to do presentations on them for the whole lecture class.

At the risk of sounding like a total litgeek, I think this is a fairly cool introduction to teaching at the university level. No freshman comp for me! Bring on the Big Ten scholars. *g*

Now if only I could get motivated to, you know, actually pack and move across the country and stuff.
