Happy New Year! I'm soooo excited about this haul! I didn't buy a lot for the MAC F&F, because I was trying to control. Bad decision! Anyway, I wanted to make full use of the vpost base shipping, so I got more Urban Decay pencils I've been lemming for a long time! Ok, let's not waste anymore time, pictures now!
Doesn't look like alot right? But these are about S$350 after shipping! It's crazy!
I'm quite glad I got these at 25% off. I know many people are disappointed that the shimmery overspray is gone just after one sweep of the finger and also felt that the rest of the matte portion is kinda chalky. Well, it is a little, kinda reminds me of most japanese blushes, which I don't really like because of their chalkiness. But IMO, they aren't as chalky as jap blushes. I tried them on during the weekend and they are nice since I'm a fan of subtle cheek color. Like my other Beauty Powders, I don't even need a stippling brush, I used my MAC 129 brush and I didn't look like a clown :D
L-R: MAC Dame Edna High-Light Powder in What a Dame! and Spectacle (US$26 each, US$19.50 after discount)
I got Duck Powerpoint mainly for my waterline. I also got Painterly Paint Pot even though Soft Ochre is great, Painterly is slightly closer to my skintone. I still prefer MAC Paint Pots to Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow. Benefit's creases on me, but MAC PP stays on much longer. Waveline Fluidline... I got it initially to add on my fluidlines collection, but I have another extra one now. It's a long story, but anyway, I have another BNIB for sale at S$20 mailed. Rich Ground fluidline too, BNIB S$20 mailed. :)
Top: MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Duck (US$14.50, US$10.88 after discount). Bottom L-R: MAC Fluidline in Waveline (US$15, US$11.75 after discount)
Ahh brushes! I've been lemming the longest time ever for the 182 brush, but I really couldn't bring myself to spend S$80+ on a brush. So when I heard about the MAC F&F, I knew that this was the first thing I had to grab! For the other 3 brushes, I got them for gel lining actually. Until now, I haven't really found a HG brush for gel lining. The 316 brush is supposed to be a lip/eyeliner brush, but its looks too thick for eye lining. I prefer thin lines, so I haven't tried that. I don't really use a lipstick, so I don't know what I'm gonna use that for. Anyway, now I really regret not getting more brushes. My 182 is so so soft, I can't stop touching it! Hahaa!
L-R: MAC 182 Buffer Brush (US$45, US$33.75 after discount), MAC 208 Angled Brow Brush (US$19, US$14.25 after discount), MAC 210 Precise Eye Liner Brush (US$17, US$12.75 after discount), MAC 316 Lip Brush/Covered Brush (US$19, US$14.25 after discount)
Ok, onto Sephora haul now. I got both of the travel-sized Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils packs. Seriously, I doubt I'll ever finish using them, but the colors are really really pretty. They've launched new colors and I'm lemming for them now! I love this stuff! I think I'm gonna collect them all :p
L-R: Urban Decay 24/7 Travel Size Set Of 5 - VIP & Velvet Rope (US$29 each)
Comparing an unsharpened full sized UD 24/7 pencil to a travel sized one. The full sized is 1.2g and the travel sized is 0.8g, so the travel sizes are 2/3 of the full sizes. It's a great deal to get them at travel sizes, considering that a full size one is US$16 and a travel size one only costs US$5.80 each! Haha I can do the math for you but I'm gonna refrain being such an obsessive cheapo, so do the math yourself! :D
Now, onto the swatches!
Its quite a shame that the overspray of What a Dame looks better on me than the actual matte powder. I tried it on last weekend, and thankfully, it did look nicer on my cheeks than on my arm. I have rather ruddy cheeks, perhaps that helped? I'm not so sure. I love Spectacle, its is a rather pale, cool pink.
Comparison of the Soft Ochre PP which I already own and the Painterly PP I just acquired. You can see the undertones of both shades, its pretty obvious. Painterly looks quite pink here, but its more of a pink-beige in person. I'm still going to be using both, depending on the look I'm trying out.
Waveline is pretty much matte in the sense that you can't really see any shimmers. You can still see a bit of shimmers in the pot itself though, but it kinda disappears on the skin. I love the soft brown of Duck Powerpoint, and I'm still looking for a gel liner in a similar shade, but I can't seem to find it. I bought Bobbi Brown's Mahagony Ink in hopes of it being a soft brown shade, but its actually very similar to the Clinique's Deep Brown shade which I already have. I actually have 4 brown shades, I'm almost giving up, I really don't want to own 10 similar brown gel liners :(
Look how gorgeous these colors are! I love Yeyo on my waterline! It actually stays on! At the rate I'm using Yeyo, I might need to buy a full size of it. I have an extra Zero... and I'm undecided whether to keep it or not. Its good for smokey eyes because its soooo creamy!
Ok I'm sorry for the quality of some pictures. This is the best my current cam can do. I need a new one quite badly. I went cam shopping the other day, and I was looking for the best deal, as usual. And then there was this salesman that pissed me off big time, but he was actually giving me the best deal out of all the ones I've checked with. I'm so mad, I was really sure I wasn't gonna buy from him because of his freaking attitude. He behaved like he was bestowing me a favor and he was so smug. It makes me so mad! But, he's offering a really good deal. Ugh! I hate it when this happens!
Anyway, enough of him. I got more pictures to take! Little exciting bits of stuff that came in the mail! Till my next post then, I hope I have a new cam already. Ciao!
xoxo,
Teal
