Since leaving Australia, there are a number of events that have happened that should be noted. These are just going to be in point format to remind me to write more about them later.
Moving to UK
-Leaving the fair land of Aus into this perpetual winter.
Living in Cambridge
- A picturesque city, amazing achitecture, Punting in the summer sun (Sounds a bit rude!), and a strange small town feel.
Getting engaged
-Filling a room with candles was NOT an easy task. The response of "Yes, of course I will, its always been you" made it that much sweeter
Moving to London
-'Old Blightly' and for a reason. One of the worlds most expenseive cities. Wondering the back streets of Soho (finding a comic shop that, like cheers, is the place where everyone knows your name! Go Orbital!) Laughing at the Monopoly board, and losing weight by sweating it out on the crowds in the tube!
Multiple Temping Jobs
-International communications company one day, Volunteering England the next... an interesting rollercoaster ride, dead quiet at Christmas, and gave me a 4 month assignment with chartered surveyors. Got me my friend Debbie - very funky lady.
Permanent Job: NHS
-Only in England can you work for the National Health Service but attempt to negotiate private health cover in your contract!! An office full of women, politics, and backstabbing.... interesting while it will last...
Starting Novel
-Been meaning to for a while... page 100, here we come! That being said, I think most of its rubbish so far with a few gems. Its strange but in a way I feel like I've been building to write this for years.
Bucks Night
- Paintballing PAIN! As the 'stag' I was running around derelict tanks and ditches wearing a high resolution vest. running 100 metres with a group of guys peppering me at close range left me with so many bruises.... still, bloody good fun. Cheers AJ!
Wedding
-Nothing I can write in this amount of space can do it justice... A post will follow with details, memories and feelings... One word - Perfect.
Honey Moon
-Lanzarote on a surprise trip.. very mellow and relaxed apart from the hurricane! Again, more to follow. Watch this space.
Christmas
My first Christmas day without any family around... apart from my new wife. My first attempt at cooking a Christmas Dinner... and it seemed to work beautifully. Its strange, but some of the things we did that day (and around that time) I can imagine becoming a 'family tradition... and that on its own, the idea of having a family to set traditions for... its overwhelming, yet something so very cool.
There we have it... a breif run down of some of the more important events of recent days... I plan on writing down more detail on most of them, but we'll see. I don't want to jinx myself into promises to update then not have an entry for the next 12 months - as before.
Guess we'll just see how things pan out.
