(no subject)
Its 11am. The VPN to our server got knocked out sometime yesterday afternoon.
The boredom is killing me.
Finally I hit the problem with owning a Mac - I have no net connection at home, and no data stick. If I took advantage of this time to write, it would be extremely difficult to actually get it married up to the body of the work… What a pain in the butt!
Its been strange, for the last week I haven’t slept properly. I’ve tried every remedy I know of except one. My back gets sore in strange ways that make me subconsciously stay awake so that when I do go to bed I can sleep no matter how uncomfortable I am…
So as yet I HAVEN’T tried the ‘stay up all night’ option to help me sleep. Work tend to get in the way of that one!
Tonight I think I’m going to stay awake as late as possible and just let myself collapse. No early calls tomorrow thank you very much!
2pm and we’re still not up and running!
I’m getting the feeling I’ll have to post this on Monday and back date it. I spent 1 ½ hours in the Server room playing. Its great how much I’ve learnt to be able to play with these things, but its also a royal pain to answer the same questions from people - and when they’re not IT literate, to try and explain to them that its NOT my fault…. And the internet is not broken…. And we can’t try using another server…. And that everyone’s computer uses the SAME server… etc…
