[Mod Round-Up and Thank You!]

Dec 13, 2010 22:55

Firstly:

Thanks for joining and signing up! I know all three of us Mods were really excited about the idea of a beta community for Torchwood - still are, if we’re going to be brutally honest - and we are grateful for all the ideas that were left on badly_knitted’s journal. We also hope that, if you think of something else that could be added to the community, please do not hesitate to drop us a line via the Feedback Post or the moderator email address: twbeta.archives.mods(at)gmail.com.

We’re hoping to have at least one ‘Mod Round-Up’ post a week (or month), just to let you know if there will be work happening around the community (layout changes, link fixes, Archive restructuring), or if events have been added to the calendar. We will definitely try not to clog up the community (or your Friends pages), with too many posts.

At this stage, we would definitely like to get your feedback on what works for you within the community and what doesn’t. Is the Beta Archive too confusing? Would you prefer each category to be in a separate post rather than just the large one it is now? Are there too many tags? Are there not enough tags? We really do appreciate the feedback and what might be brilliant to us, may not be brilliant to the rest of you.

With that being said, we’d also like to get your opinion on the DreamWidth mirror for the main Beta Archive. Please fill out the poll below to let us know how you feel about the DreamWidth mirror linking to your Beta Profile on the LiveJournal community and vice-versa. The DreamWidth mirror is… our back-up plan. In the event of a mass exodus like those that have been known to happen in the past (The Great Strike-Thru of ’07, The Twitter/Facebook Rebellion of 2010), we want to make sure that writers and beta readers have something to fall-back on ‘just in case’. The DreamWidth main Beta Archive will only be visible to members of the community on DreamWidth (which you can join using OpenID).

We will come to a decision based on majority rule, however, if you really don’t want your profile linked on the DreamWidth account, please email the mods and we will remove you from the DreamWidth version of the Archive.

And that just about sums up the last three or four days of community mayhem, a couple of new deadlines have been added to the calendar (okay, one deadline has been added to the calendar), at the end of January.

So, until the next Mod Round-Up; happy writing and Season’s Greetings to all our members,

Miss_BekahRose
