68 - A Complicated Kindness - Miriam Toews
Naomi Nickel and her father are trying to get by after her mother left them and her older sister ran off. The family is part of a Mennonite religious community and the conflict between modern life and the traditions. Religion can bring hope and beauty to life but in many cases, it's restrictive and harsh as it is in this story about teenage Naomi. Pretty good. I liked it.

69 - The Player - Denise Grover Swank
Second of three books about three best friends and their upcoming nuptials. Blair is days away from her wedding to a doctor. their relationship is not about passion, however. She was hurt badly by Garret in university and is keeping herself protected. But Garret comes back into her life and realizes she doesn't love her fiance. Plot is typical and predictable but I quite liked it.

70 - Sands of Time - Monique Martin
Another time travel adventure for Simon and Elizabeth Cross, this time to 1920 Egypt. This was quite a good romp after the last one I read that was only so so.

71 - Vincent Price - Victoria Price
Biography of her father. Learned some things I didn't know about the well known actor.

72 - Never Apologise, Never Explain - James Craig
Detective Inspector Carlysle tracking down another murderer in London. A bit disjointed with an unsatisfying ending.

73 - What She Left Behind - Ellen Marie Wiseman
Dual story, one in the present about a 17 year old foster child and one in the 1920s about Clara, a socialite whose father has her put in a mental institution because she insists on marrying an Italian blue collar immigrant rather than the man they have chosen for her. Clara's experiences in the institution are harrowing.
