What's the last thing you wrote?
A Zutara drabble
Was it any good?
No, which is why I never posted it
What's the first thing you ever wrote that you still have?
An unfinished short story from grade 5 about Vampi R Bat. Seriously.
Write poetry?
Yeah. Wish I had more time to.
Angsty poetry?
Yeah, tho I'm trying to spread my wings a little when it comes to poetry.
Most fun character you ever wrote?
I tried to write Sparrow Redhouse once. [Heroes graphic novels]
Most annoying character you ever wrote?
Hmmm, no idea. Writing from Luna Lovegood's perspective was weird tho. [Harry Potter]
Best plot you ever wrote?
Probably Voice for Voices, even though I don't have the details worked out yet. It's on writing.com [not posting it here]
Coolest plot twist you ever wrote?
I usually don't write plot twists. The only one I can remember is in Behind Blue Eyes [romance short story] where it looked like he was cheating on her, but then in the end he killed her. But that story was horribly cliche and badly written. It was in like 8th grade.
How often do you get writer's block?
Too often.
How do you fix it?
Take a shower, focus on something else, read, or force myself if I really need to get writing done.
Do you type or write by hand?
I type stories but write poetry in my notebook. Unless I don't have a computer available.
Do you save everything you write?
Yeah. I have stuff from 5th grade. What does that tell you? :P
Do you ever go back to an old idea long after you abandoned it?
Yeah. I tend to abandon stories and get back to them weeks, sometimes months later. [mostly cuz of school]
What's your favourite thing that you've written?
Don't know.
What's everyone else's favourite thing that you've written?
My poetry.
Do you ever show people your work?
Sometimes to rarely.
Who's your favourite constructive critic?
Some person on writing.com cuz he was pretty specific about it.
Did you ever write a novel?
No.
Have you ever written fantasy, sci-fi, or horror?
Girl With Asymmetrical Wings [fic] was fantasy, Voice for Voices is sci-fi, and I wrote a page for Spanish last year that was horror.
Ever written romance or teen angsty drama?
Yeah, my poems are full of that stuff.
What's one genre you have never written, and probably never will?
I want to try different things, so I try not to say I'd never try something. Unless I know nothing about it like western. Or pr0n.
How many writing projects are you working on right now?
2 or so. Voice for Voices and The To-Do List.
Do you want to write for a living?
Yes and no. I wish I could but I don't have the talent and I don't want to starve. And I like psychiatry. :)
Have you ever written something for a magazine or newspaper?
I wrote a couple poems for the magazine for Goan Convention.
Have you ever won an award for your writing?
A minor one. It was a What Sea Creature Would You Be? contest at writing.com and I chose lamprey. :P
Ever written something in script or play format?
No.
What is your favourite word?
I don't know. I've never ever thought about it. But I like long words and words that are fun to say. Like parochial. :P
Do you ever write based on yourself?
I think all the characters I write have parts of me in them, but none are entirely me, so no, not really
Which of your characters most resembles you?
Like I said, none are exactly like me.
Where do you get ideas for your characters?
Don't know. It's kind of a "hey, it'd be cool if..." and I combine many of those. Sometimes they're from dreams or they kinda talk to me in my mind.
Do you prefer happy endings, sad endings, or cliff-hangers?
I like happy endings, unless the story really felt like it was going to have a sad ending but then it ended up being cliche-happy. Like Harry Potter. UGH.
Have you ever written anything based on an artwork you've seen?
Not really.
Are you concerned with spelling and grammar as you write?
Yeah. Grammar geek, word nerd. :D
Ever write something entirely in chatspeak?
Just reading chatspeak makes me feel like I'm wringing out my brain.
Does music help you write?
Yeah, if it sets the mood well enough.
Are people surprised and confused when they find out you write well?
I dunno. I don't think I write well enough for it to surprise and confuse people.
Quote something you've written.
The beginning of Voice for Voices.
"There's going to be a war soon." I spoke, breaking the silence that often lingered at the breakfast table. Heather pushed aside the corner of her newspaper, revealing a blue eye, a freckle-dusted nose, and straightened brown hair.
"There hasn't been a war in the world for over fifty years." She said, raising a perfectly tweezed eyebrow.
"I can sense it. There's no other way for me to explain it."
"It's probably one of your insane theories."
"Oh no." I said. "This one's different. It's stronger. It's stronger and... it's not gonna change this time."
"Last time, it didn't 'change', you were just wrong. You were wrong and because of that, I almost died!"
I sighed as Heather folded the newspaper and slammed it on the table. She stood and walked a few paces away before stopping in her tracks.
"I wasn't wrong. It changed." I felt the change before it happened." I revealed, supporting myself and surrendering at the same time.
"Then why did you..." she didn't need to complete her sentence.
"I couldn't control it. I'm sorry." I said simply before vanishing into my room.
So, Friday I did volunteering at the JW House event for Kaiser Permanente. For those of you who don't know, the JW house is a house where families can stay while one of the family members stays in the hospital for cancer. It's a home away from home. This event was basically for stuff like buying engraved tiles to donate to the house, painting rocks for the rock garden, and making a chain of bracelets with attached statements, quotes, or names of people you want to be remembered. I was at the station with the chain, meaning I was stuck with Daniel, the guy who used to annoy me in chemistry honors last year and in math the year before. He was basically alternating between trying to do nice stuff, acting really immature [like about the sword-shaped balloon 'animals' that the clown made], and asking me if I was straight [just because I don't like pink]. He either doesn't get it that I don't like him or thinks that if he follows me around I'll start to like him. Uh, no. Just no.
Other than that, I am desperately trying to raise my Spanish grade, plus studying for the Bio AP test [tomorrow, ahh!]. I need to memorize the Invention [8 I think] and get We're So Far Away absolutely perfect so I can film or audio record it so I can be all showoff-y for colleges and such. And I need to memorize my script for the Goan Convention and study for SAT 2 Math 2 and Lit, especially Lit since I suck at Lit and didn't even finish last time, which is why I'm taking it. And I got 650 on diagnostic in Math 2. I FAIL at math.
I finally got a new Avatar icon. Zuko, yay! Yeah, simple is better [no shiny distracting whee] and his hair goes woosh! :D I like his short hair. *nods* I'm searching for good fics. Like cracky wow fics. Not just Avatar, but Heroes and maybe Harry Potter too. Harry Potter has come to the point where I simply don't mind it; I don't love it as much as I used to. Same with Heroes, although the hype will probably start up when the show does. But yeah, Heroes fanfiction has become boring, especially company fics. Harry Potter itself has become stupid, although there is some good fanfiction. Ya know, when it's not stupid stuff like "suddenly, they had sex".
