Not news

BBC posted the amazing news that cats kill other critters. I hate to tell the scientists that that's what cats, dogs, birds and all other critters do. It's call surviving. Cats are not equipped with opposable thumbs or toes, so they can't open tins of cat food. Ditto birds, dogs etc. They are equipped by nature to prey on other critters. Mind you Brambling is very good at opening cupboards and can get into a tetra pack.
There are feral cats and dogs out there whose numbers are high due to human interference, ie not neutering pets that aren't appropriate for breeding. I get pissed when I see the same sign up at the end of the same driveways each year - free kittens. Figure it out morons. It's also wrong to feed such feral critters. Nature has a way of sorting out the numbers, it's cruel, but not as cruel as artificially inflating the numbers of feral creatures. Wild turkeys are becoming a problem around here. People feed them. Then go to Florida for a few months. The flocks of turkeys then scour the area, farmers fields and areas that support other wildlife.

I went to the eye doctor Monday. Tried to pay with my VISA, but VISA crashed yesterday. Couldn't get through to my bank to transfer $ to debit card. So not only did I miss out on points from using VISA, I can look forward to an overdraft charge next month. Somehow I managed to call VISA and the bank and get both sorted. I wonder how many people will bother to do that and will the banks bother to try to help people who weren't grumpy enough to call.

Spent the day in bed, reading. Worky work Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. To Dr on Friday.

Good news maybe- tenant wants to rent my garage - it's at the top of the hill, to use for a summer store to sell antiques. Not sure re zoning, but many people run relatively permanent yard sales. It will have to be sorted out come April. It's too cold now, snow blocking doors. Locks will have to be fitted and some sort of power. I will suggest he get a generator. That way he will pay for all the power used. Seems he left the heat on high in the storefront he had been renting. Seems 59F was too cold for him to leave the shop overnight, unoccupied. Owner of the building took away the heater, so he's leaving that site. I didn't try to explain to him the economics of heating a poorly insulated building for 16 hours a day when it's vacant.
