Dawn sighed. She hated switching schools. She hated having to make new friends. More importantly she hated what it all meant, that she had to start afresh in a new town where the only person she knew was her sister.
Sure, Buffy wanted to show her the world but where did it get her? Transferred from here to there and back again. At least Middleton seemed like an alright kind of town… nothing much seemed to be there but the people were nice.
Sighing, she slipped her back pack from off her shoulders and waited in the principal’s office for a person to show her around. It seemed like any other school. She doubted that there would be any night life here.
“Miss Summers, this is Kim Possible. She’ll be your guide for today.”
Dawn looked up to see a red headed cheerleader smiling at her. Swallowing a sigh she followed the girl out of the office. There was a strange beeping sound which made Kim stop quickly before answering her Kimmunicator.
“Hey Wade, what’s the stitch?” Kim asked. She listened before exclaiming. “Vampires? For real?”
Dawn smiled, now this was something she could live with. New town, old problems.

It was a surprise when Willow received a letter inviting her onto the staff at Hogwarts. It was an even bigger surprise when Dawn received an invitation to attend the school. The two former Sunnydale residents were excited of being in a place that magic was not only taught but a day to day experience. Adding to the excitement was the fact it was almost expected for Dawn to have her own pet.
When the two had ended up in Diagon Alley, they quickly got the rest of their supplies before heading into the pet shop. Before them were all kinds of unusual creatures to have as pets. There was one which had caught Dawn’s attention. A rat which seemed to be missing a toe. Dawn looked at Willow and nodded towards the rat only to find Willow shaking her head.
“Why not?” Dawn asked with a pout.
“It reminds me of Amy,” Willow replied.
“Because it’s a rat?”
“No, because it’s not a rat…” Willow stressed, knowing that Dawn would figure it out.
Dawn was about to ask Willow what she meant, when it finally clicked into place.
“So how about a cat? Miss Kitty Fantastico Junior?”
“Much better!”
