Did I win?
Well this past weekend was fun. Went to my very first convention, Acen. Aside from the ridiculous amount of time spent waiting in line, it was overall pretty neat. I went to a panel discussion on how to break into the video game industry hosted by real artists employed by video game companies. Chatted a bit with one of the guys and got some contact info. *Squeeee*! They say it's all about who you know.
Home now, I did end up catching a summer cold. Probably from being around so many people at the con. Yesterday was horrible but I'm somewhat better today. I have one more day to rest before I start my new job. Yep, I finally got a job. The grocery store called me back. That's the first time I've gotten called back when they say, "we'll keep your application active." They're in a pinch for a decorator and I fit the bill. I don't really feel like I won. It'll be nice to have a paycheck coming in, but I really do want a career type job, not just some part time thing that won't really go anywhere.
It also kind of infringes on this weekend. I couldn't go to the gem and jewelry show with Tokoz because I have to stay home and dog sit. A couple of friends were going to come down to keep me company a bit over the weekend, but now I have to work. So you guys are still more than welcome if you want to come down. But you'll see a bit more of the dog than me.
