not bad, could be worse
happy humpday, all. for a while today i thought it was thursday.
so the giant wad of gauze and the five feet of tape have been carefully peeled from my ass, the holepunch has been examined (there's a little bruising but it is indeed a clean wound but also, ew), a fresh bandage has been applied. so far so good. i told a bunch of admins about it at work and after they got through the horrified and sympathetic noises they all thought it was funny that i have a hole in my ass. well, two, technically.
students are back, which is nice, altho yesterday i had to walk a confused sophomore across the building because taking him where he needed to go was easier than giving him directions. [insert obligatory rant about the building here]
in election news, i hope all the americans in the audience are registered to vote. check to be sure because depending on where you live there might be shenanigans. and liz cheney, arch conservative and daughter of darth dick "squatting toad of pure evil" cheney, said out loud in front of an audience that she's going to vote for kamala harris. pigs flying, demons ice skating, etc etc. part of me doesn't trust her at all but at the same time i respect her a lot for what looks like a legitimately principled stand against the trumpification of the republican party. i mean, i think she's biding her time until there's a gop power vacuum she can take advantage of but at the same time she voted to impeach mango mussolini knowing it would cost her her senate seat (it did) and that's not nothing.
in more fun political news, supreme court justice ketanji brown jackson apparently went to harvard the same time as matt damon and did a scene with him in drama class. the prof told her she was very good and said to matt "we'll talk". heh.
