yesterday (and wednesday night) we got snow. like, a foot. give or take. (i have understandably not been outside to measure.) it's kind of soothing being inside while it's snowing a lot outside. i don't miss having to shovel, altho i'm a little antsy about whether or not the snow will have melted enough by tuesday that i can go to physical therapy. because i have pt now! and yesterday was supposed to be the first actual session. i did not go, because snow + crutches = disaster. i did however get to keep the appointment... on zoom. :D i did exercises. it was weirdly fun.
the other thing that happened yesterday was my heat went out. :| it turned out to be a clogged valve. the plumber came today and fixed it, and can i just tell you, there are few winter sounds as pleasant as a hissing radiator. seriously. (i can do without the hot radiator smell, tho.) the radiators in my old apartment used to knock and clang, and just hearing them made me feel instantly warmer. psychosomatic heating. :D
today at work we had an all-staff holiday lunch over zoom, because we couldn't have it in person. we even got $20 to order our own lunch. (i got thai. good and good for you! i even have leftovers for breakfast. :D ) there was an ugly sweater competition, because i guess it isn't a winter holiday party without one, and one of the women made her own by apparently stapling a santa to the front of her shirt. she gave santa a mask. it was adorable. there were also a few folks wearing christmas tree lights, which was also adorable, and someone in candy cane leggings. we all went around and introduced ourselves, and i said hi and it's great to see everyone, i started in march and was in the building all of two weeks before we went home, so some of you i only know from email, and it's nice to actually see what you look like.
other than that my day was quite slow. i think it's going to be that way for the next three days, and then we're off for the rest of the year. woot.
libertarians tried to set up a libertarian utopia in new hampshire. it didn't go well. they were undone by... bears.

this house comes with its own diving caves. the house itself is very, uh, well, the guy who owned it had a distinct style.
you need to see it. it has three kitchens. and at least three bars. and its own office wing. and a grotto from which you can cliff dive.
