i had the laziest weekend. i was going to cross stitch (i want to cross stitch) and start editing my bang (i need to edit the bang), and... no. did neither. today i went to the grocery store (which felt SO CROWDED) and had family zoom and took a walk to get some fresh air, and yesterday i went to my sister's to watch yesterday which is very cute, and also made blueberry muffins and have not eaten all of them yet go me. friday i sat outside for a while because it was windy in an "it's going to storm" kind of way, and that's some of my favorite weather. (it did not storm. sigh.)
but otherwise? eh. i had a good time on zoom brunch (we talked about dogs, because of course we did, and also cross stitch), but still. bleh.
i missed the launch and the docking with the iss (and i would've missed the original launch which was scrubbed on account of bad weather), but i can still share that two us astronauts were launched from florida and
docked with the international space station for the first time since 2011. (american astronauts have been taking off from russia in russian spacecraft since we ended the space shuttle program.) privately launched, too. i don't know how i feel about nasa basically outsourcing some of its duties, and i'm not a huge fan of elon musk, but this is still a pretty big deal. riding along in the capsule was
a stuffed dragon chosen by the astronauts' kids. fitting, since the capsule is called the crew dragon. heh.
i know i've mentioned spite houses (SO PETTY) and a spite fence (TOTAL DICK MOVE) but there's also a
spite triangle in new york. it's what happens when the city demolishes a bunch of buildings to extend a street, but one property owner's property isn't entirely destroyed. and then the property owner's heirs refuse to sell their tiny remaining piece of privately-owned sidewalk to the city.
seen on facebook:
knitted egg cozies. they also come as
tiny hats. to keep your soft-boiled eggs warm until you eat them, of course.
