well today was a good day

today i met my sister in the city for brunch, and there was a parade! it was for a puerto rican festival.

elvis driving a red bel air.

also a dance troupe with the tiniest, most adorable dancer.

it was very nice out, if very hot, and brunch was yummy. i love brunch. saying that makes me feel like a cliche, but whatever. there were a lot of people out with their dogs, and i love that too.

is it made with people?

yesterday i did stuff and things - i had scrambled eggs on a bagel at the coffeeshop down the street because there was no breakfast food in my house and i didn't want to make eggs myself, and also i got my comics - and friday we had a fun work outing at a place called kimball farm, where i stuffed my face (and then the ice cream fought back >.< ), chilled out with the admins from the westborough office, played mini golf with one of the tax managers, and went on the bumper boats (where i got splashed) and bumper cars with some folks from valuation. every so often the valuation partner has me do stuff for her and her team, so i know some of them. they're fun people. and i learned that the aforementioned valuation partner has... A PET HEDGE. WHO IS TINY AND CUTE. (she showed us some pics.) i may or may not have made a noise so high-pitched only dogs could hear. ahem. and then because i'm old and it was hot, when i got home i took a nap. >.<

where do you think that goes? :D

still loving killjoys, still don't like dutch's hair. fancy cracked me up. he's everyone's type. :D and his ass didn't grab itself. (mostly i was just glad to see him.) turin was just as cranky as he ever was, and i really like dutch and zeph as a working unit. i don't ship them at all but they have a nice friendship. dutch continues to have more chemistry with johnny than with d'avin, and i wish we'd gotten a lucy/johnny reunion! d'avin called her his ship - and he just referred to her as "ship"! not by name! - and it felt so wrong. he was brainwashed by the lady and didn't know what he was saying, but still! i did love that even she was still very much lucy, even if she was the wrong person's lucy.

i may or may not have started thinking about next year's bigbang, because why not. i think it might even have an actual story! oooh. i know how it ends, anyway. now i need to do some reading.

while i was eating my bagel on saturday i kept trying not to eavesdrop on the two women sitting next to me, but then one of them mentioned a novel manuscript a friend of hers sent her, and my ears perked up, because a. the friend is actually an ex (they met when he was i think thirty-four and she was twenty-three? which is enough of an age difference at those ages to kind of squick me), b. the woman recognizes herself and events she knows (which sounded totally fine with her), and c. it's about vampires. tanglewood vampires. tanglewood is a music festival in western mass, but i swear this woman said she helped organize it in tucson a few years ago. so... arizona vampires. who love music? i guess? i really wanted to ask for details but that would out me as a nosy bitch to total strangers. the woman's friend asked if it was good, and the woman said yes, the guy's writing is really beautiful and lyrical and i can't remember exactly, but she admitted she was biased. and i'm kind of rolling my eyes, because vampires.

in totally other, very sweet news, a nine-year-old autistic boy in idaho wanted his mom to invite "all his friends" (ie, his class) to his birthday party, and when only one kid rsvp'ed (SHAME ON THOSE OTHER KIDS), the high school football team showed up to celebrate with him. he was, unsurprisingly, VERY EXCITED.

vampires, writing wtf, new job second floor, killjoys, good deeds, fun with my sister, bigbang, weekend wrapup, i love where i live, hedgies, fun with coworkers
