space! ish.

tonight was the town fireworks. i may or may not have had fried dough for dinner. twice. yum. i was also originally supposed to post my bang today (boys! in! spaaaace!), but my poor artist needed an extension, so now we post next month. i'm torn between making the ending a little better and starting something else. maybe i can do both? especially since i don't know what the next thing is. i'm a little stuck on the idea of a post-apocalypse, because somehow i got the end of a poem stuck in my head:

...To live

in a world of flesh
& teeth, you must
learn to kill

what you love,
& love what can die.

(it's called to live in the zombie apocalypse, by burlee vang.)

but i don't know. i guess i could start planning nano, but eh.

tonight was also writing group, which is at my house, and we managed to have a decent discussion despite the loud and cheesy music. we ended early so everyone else could avoid the crowds on the way home (the mc for the music and i guess the fireworks said there were 20k people out which i find hard to believe) and i could watch the fireworks, because i love me some fireworks.

in other news, hilton hotels' chocolate chip cookies are going to be the first baked goods actually baked in space. the dough and the oven are going up to the iss later this year for experiments in microgravity and coincidentally to make the place homier for the astronauts. i'm very excited about cookies in space, myself.

and speaking of space-adjacent food, dairy queen is celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the moon landing with... the zero gravity blizzard. i have no idea where the closest dairy queen is but i now have a great need to find out. i'm a sucker for themed food.

(the actual anniversary of the moon landing is next month. i don't know how i'm going to celebrate, but i'll think of something.)

also i might need the new lego lunar lander. it was designed in collaboration with nasa. and it's lego, come on.

outer space, writing group, bigbang 2018, fireworks, baked goods, legos, i love where i live
