well today was a day. :| again. :| one of the forms we deal with at work is a k-1. they're like seven pages and i don't actually know what they're for, except occasionally i have to deal with them. today (well, technically 5:30 yesterday) i got a request from someone in the new york office to print and mail what turned out to be 221 of them. 221. print, staple, mail. i enlisted an intern to help me print k-1s and stuff envelopes, and the receptionist volunteered to print the address labels. (if i had to do it all myself it would've taken all day.) fortunately they all went regular mail, because if i had to type up and print 221 certifieds or ups labels i would've strangled someone. the big question, tho, is why the associate in new york sent them to me. it was for a new york client, and the new york office is much bigger than the boston office. they have more admins to do this shit. and i had other stuff to do! it got done, but man, it shouldn't have come to me to do in the first place. mediocre, new york.
yesterday was just regularly busy, and friday was the march deadline. oooh. it was weirdly chill and un-deadline-like until about four, and then everything happened at once. i left work late but expected that. mostly i survived it and didn't make too many dumb mistakes, and hopefully i'll be slightly more prepared for april.
we also had a very late super bowl party, which involved wine and fortune cookies (we had a bet with the los angeles office, that if the pats won they'd send us napa valley wine and fortune cookies, and if the rams won we'd send them sam adams and i think baked beans) and an assortment of st patrick's day themed super bowl snacks. like, "irish nachos" which were basically loaded steak fries, and shepherd's pie eggrolls (as weird as you might guess), and fried pickles (yum), and i can't remember what else. corned beef. wings. sliders. beer. tax got pizza for lunch, because we always get pizza for deadlines, so i wasn't exactly hungry, but it's hard to turn down a fried pickle and an unusual eggroll.
saturday my sister came over for lunch and so we could put together a photobook for our parents' anniversary, and while we didn't finish the book (not that i was surprised), we did find some fun photos. like one of my mom and aunts, her soon-to-be sisters-in-law, which my sister and i think was taken at my parents' rehearsal dinner, before they got married.
they were so young! well, the pic's fifty-one years old, of course they were young.
what's neat is that you can see the old them in the young them. they're still recognizably my aunts and my mom, just much younger.
this is my sister and my mom and some seals. i just thought it was a really cute picture. my sister doesn't think she was a cute baby. i think she's wrong.
my curling team lost embarrassingly on sunday, altho it would have been a much closer game if the other team hadn't gotten five in the fourth end. we just couldn't come back from that.
i signed up for a free 21-day online yoga series - a new video each day - i'm about halfway through and yoga is HARD. it doesn't help that i'm profoundly unbendy. i kind of like it, tho.
cow runs away from police, blocks traffic, and goes to chick-fil-a - apparently the most midwestern sentence you will read all day/night. but yes, a cow in indiana ran from police across the road and to a chick-fil-a. heh.
