i love bagel fridays
hello my flist! today is bagel friday. :D (at work we get bagels for breakfast on fridays. we also got pizza today, for reasons that escape me.) but more importantly, it's the day after a major deadline. yesterday was the ides of march (beware romans carrying knives), and wednesday was pi day (altho i didn't get any pie) and walkout day for a lot of high schoolers, and tuesday was, uh, tuesday we got snow. and tomorrow is saturday and i have to get the oil changed in my car, file my taxes, pick up like three weeks of comics, and do some laundry. fun. tomorrow is also st patrick's day, which mostly means i'll need to find a cupcake with green frosting.
also stephen hawking passed away on wednesday, and my favorite thing i learned about him is that he threw a champagne party for time travelers, and when no one showed up, he decided time travel didn't exist. (he sent the invites after the party was over.) i love it when geniuses do fun weird shit like that.
tonight my cousin's youngest kid was in a musical - schoolhouse rock - and because my sister and i have been to shows that his brothers have been in, we went. youngest kid is eleven? i think? so the musical was all middle schoolers and because it was schoolhouse rock it was the cutest. more songs were familiar than i expected, altho some of them i didn't recognize at all. i refrained from singing along to the ones i knew. and they changed a line in interplanet janet, about pluto! because when the song was written pluto was still a planet, but now the line is something like "pluto wasn't a planet but janet thought it was". it was still a very cute show, and my cousin's kid got a song! a multiplication song about fives that i didn't know. he has some presence, or at least as much stage presence as an eleven-year-old can have.
last night i discovered that there are food squishables. i mean, THERE'S A HAM. COMPLETE WITH PINEAPPLE RINGS. AND THE CUTEST PLUSHEST SHRIMP SUSHI. IT EVEN HAS A CUTE LITTLE TAIL. and not food but still totally my thing, A CACTUS SQUISH. IN A POT. WITH A FLOWER. so who loves me and wants to buy me a giant plushie? :D
