there was a woman playing the ukulele in the t station this morning. i kinda wanted to stop and listen except i had to catch the train. and then work was pretty quiet (it was a deadline - the 15th of every month is a tax deadline - but there's not a lot due in the middle of july) and by the time i went home there was almost no one left. the rest of the summer is going to be sloooow.
it is 82º right now, at 11:30 at night, and i am going to die. i cannot be having with this humid heat shit. *ghaaaasp*
killjoys continues to be pretty fab. plots are thickening! stuff is happening! the world is building! it's neat.
pawter is THE BEST. also kinda evil, putting her exploding anklet in jelco's heart. heh. she couldn't have done it to a nicer guy. :D i was disappointed by d'avin's immature jealousy and pissiness because apparently alvis and dutch had a relationship, altho at first i couldn't tell if he was pissy because he thought they'd slept together, or if it was just that alvis is from dutch's pre-d'avin life and i guess d'avin is the kind of guy who hates that the girl he boned (and wants to continue boning) knows other guys besides him. hmph. but then the show seemed to go with the first option, with the aborted kiss, and i was disappointed again. not that i mind dutch having past and present sexual relationships, but come on, how predictable.
also predictable? and boring and cliche? jelco's attraction to/desire for pawter. like the villain having the hots for - and creepily coming onto - the pretty lady he's imprisoned isn't a huge cliche. hmph. altho as mentioned, i did like that she figured out how to get out of spring hill and stick it to him at the same time. altho who hit her on the head? and why?
i could've done without the moss-camo bugs, but i'm not a fan of big bugs in general. the one that johnny brought onto lucy getting a name is kind of cute, tho.
a year ago, new horizons got to pluto and started exploring the planet (it's still a planet to me, ok?) and its moons. in honor,
have some cool photos. space, man.
and speaking of space, the code that got apollo 11 to the moon
is full of nerdy jokes, because of course it is. i mean, come on, engineers.
ghostbusters just opened so i haven't seen it yet, but here's
a really lovely article about the original and new movies and harold ramis, written by his daughter. she mentions ghostbusters fandom - as in, the older fandom - in some really kind ways.
if i ever come into a large sum of money i am going to buy a condo with an off-street parking space and central air, because this heat is bullshit.
